The Land of Boggs is a BuzzFeed animated web series created by Brent Sievers and Lizz Hickey about two best buds learning to embrace the wondrous chaos that comes with growing up. The Streamy-nominated show follows the comical friendship of Boggo, an introvert with debilitating anxiety, and Boe, an extrovert who is allergic to responsibility, as they weave in and out of trouble. When Co-Creator Lizz Hickey first created the Boggs, she wanted them to always have a consistent design — one head and two legs regardless of configuration, color, or texture. The Boggs team starts by brainstorming relatable, everyday situations from their lives then blowing them up to insane cartoon proportions. Co-Creator Brent Sievers draws inspiration for characters and episodes from things he observes in his personal life. For example, Boggo and Mark are inspired by things Brent observes in himself, while Boe, Tiffany, and Candice are vastly inspired by his friends. Similarly, Boe’s parents are closely based on Brent’s parents in design and personality, while Aiden is based on a lot of Brent’s siblings growing up.
