Animator for Chikn Nuggit
Allie Mehner (she/they) has been a freelance Animator on Chikn Nuggit on and off since 2020. She knew as a child she wanted to be an animator – she always liked cartoons and never grew out of it. Their biggest inspirations are looking at cute animal photos and joking around with friends. Allie’s hope is that her work makes people smile and laugh! Some of their favorite shows are What We Do in the Shadows, Princess Tutu, Digimon, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Kaiba, and Aunty Donna's Big Ol' House of Fun. Allie loves being part of the Animation Lab because she gets to animate such cute critters. She foresees the wildly popular Chikn Nuggit blowing up even more and hopes for a full series on a network down the road.
Allie’s favorite workflow shortcut is their hotkey for smoothing in Adobe Animate to ensure lines always look good. Their advice to aspiring animators is, “Don't be afraid to make super ugly art/animation!!!
From New Jersey, Allie now lives in California and appreciates the REALLY good Mexican food. She loves frogs, axolotls, Fire Emblem, Pokémon, Neopets, romance comics, anime, YouTube deep-dives, 2000s internet culture, her cat, and her husband.
